Couple's affection, legacy in dermatology endure the test of time

She stands alone as having made her mark in dermatology. But the way E. Dorinda Shelley, M.D., tells it, hers is a story of a partnership with her beloved late husband, an icon in dermatology, Walter B. Shelley, M.D., Ph.D.

Key Points

Today, 13 years after retiring from dermatology practice and a year since her husband's death, Dr. Shelley tends to a 9.5-acre farm in a small town outside of Toledo, Ohio.

Also in 2009, she was made an honorary member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
