Tubingen, Germany

- Researchers from Tubingen University have discovered that immune response can prevent tumor growth without killing tumor cells, ecancermedicalscience reports.

Until now, scientists believed the immune system controlled tumor growth by killing cells, but researchers note immune responses can not only induce tumor dormancy, but also tumor growth, according to the study, published in Cancer Cell.

The study may lead to a new line of attack in the development of tumor vaccines.
