In a recent interview with Dermatology Times, Jonathan Silverberg, MD, PhD, MPH, professor of dermatology at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, discussed the significance of the upcoming Revolutionizing Atopic Dermatitis (RAD) 2025 conference. Highlighting the rapid advancements in the field, Silverberg emphasized how "given how rapidly atopic dermatitis is evolving," it can be difficult for busy practitioners to stay current simply through reading scattered journal articles.

He explained that the field has recently seen a surge in new therapies—ranging from topicals and orals to biologics—and expanded understanding of disease epidemiology, phenotyping, and severity assessment. With even more treatments in the pipeline, he noted, "it's a lot, and it's hard for the busy practitioner to keep up with all of this."

Silverberg stressed the importance of having access to leading experts who are both active clinicians and researchers: "the value of having some of the top experts in the field... and be able to have that presented to them and really be brought up to date with the cutting edge is really super important." The conference aims to bridge that gap by providing attendees with critical, up-to-date knowledge in a rapidly changing specialty.

Silverberg, a co-chair of the conference, will be presenting on a number of topics, including new and upcoming therapies, managing itch, and more. He will be joined by co-chair Raj Chovatiya, MD, PhD, MSCI; Dermatology Times Editor in Chief Christopher Bunick, MD, PhD; Mona Shahriari, MD; and even more experts in the field. With presentations on everything from dose flexibility to late breaking research, there is sure to be something for everyone at RAD 2025.
