San Francisco - Cancer researcher James Cleaver, Ph.D., was honored by the American Skin Association for his work on the role of DNA repair in cancer prevention.
Dr. Cleaver, a professor of dermatology and pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), received the association's 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award at a gala in New York City.
He joined UCSF in 1966 as a research biophysicist in radiology. He holds degrees in natural sciences and medicine from the University of Cambridge, England.
