Allergan completes purchase of acne treatment drug
Irvine, Calif. - Allergan, based here, has finalized a deal to acquire acne treatment gel Aczone from QLT USA Inc., the Associated Press reports.

Irvine, Calif. - Allergan, based here, has finalized a deal to acquire acne treatment gel Aczone from QLT USA Inc., the Associated Press reports.
Allergan paid $150 million to purchase the brand from QLT USA, which is based in Fort Collins, Colo., and is an arm of QLT, based in Vancouver, Canada.
Allergan plans to launch Aczone Gel 5 percent in the fourth quarter. The Food and Drug Adminstration approved the drug in July 2005.
